trying it out

so i am trying this blogging stuff out. i figure that there are some of you out there who are interested (hopefully) in what goes on in my life. (well i am sure it'll be more about my kids...)

here they are...alexa 18 months and joss 2 months

anyway, have you ever been really challenged by something that god speaks, but then when you are determined to *listen* it's really hard? so on sunday we heard all about intentional relationships and that is what life is all about...i agree. so i was taking alexa to her gymnastics class and thought it would be nice to meet some of the moms. now, i already have a complex about being so young with now 2 kids. whether people actually think it or not i thing people think i am the babysitter. anyway, so i go to the class and not 1 of them are friendly, or acknowledge the existence of me or my aunt who was with me. right then, i decide that these people are snobby and it is their fault i can't be friendly to them. the excuse worked for a few hours. then of course i realize that god doesn't call us to pursue or reach out to only those that we find appealing or that we would naturally be drawn to.

andre's experience was quite the opposite. a guy who was working with him (not a christian) was having a rough day. andre asked him what was going on and there was some problems with his baby (unborn). andre asked if he could pray with him and he said yes. the guy was encouraged and thankful.

so my lesson of the day, god wants you to love people...even if you think they are annoying.

hey kris,
can really identify with your day! i really want to reach out and share god's love but the people that are most in need of it,,,are the ones who are least loveable!
as a mom with young ones your scope of reach is limited, and other moms of youngsters are probably frazzled and frustrated, especially if they don't know peace! keep reaching out!
love you,
cathy

Funny. I think everyone can probably relate to you, except maybe those Ebersole's. They seem to thrive on loving the unlovable, huh? Good thing we married into that family. :) Maybe we can learn too.

I'm SO GLAD you have a blog now. I'm excited about reading your posts and seeing the occasional picture too. The girls are so cute. I swear, Joss and Asa's cheeks are identical...huge.

Kristin, that comment cracks me up! It's true though. The Lord always seems to nudge us to talk to the people that are annoying and difficult to talk too! But keep your head up high this week, and continue to reach out to the other moms. I'm sure that they have something in common with you...other than the fact that they have kids too. Keep me informed.

I am gonna remind you of this story more than you know. You finally understand why you need to return my phone calls. I still love you, Matt
