we are back from the 'cake' as tink called it all weekend. i hate unpacking so much...so most of our stuff is still sitting in bags. we had a great time but i am going to wait till i have all my pics before i post about it.
so, i had a little bump in the road the past few months. anyone who knows jossy knows that joss is joss and that's all there is about it. so i noticed that she was not talking, repeating, etc like alexa was at her age and started to get a little concerned. when i noticed this i tried getting her to repeat more and do letter sounds, etc..but all she really did was grunt. we have been able to distinguish different grunts, but she gets very frustrated when people do not understand what she is saying. i mentioned it to my doctor at the beginning if the summer and they told me that she was just on the slow side of normal (whatever that means) and then in august the doctor agreed that there may be a delay. so we started the early intervention process about a month ago, did interviews and evaluations and it was determined that she does have an expressive language delay.
ouch that hurt. my baby is perfect (kind of)! i went from not wanting to tell anyone and being embarrassed about it to being okay with it. so anyway...i am very interested to see the types of techniques and activities they do with her...and hearing her little voice!

She is perfect! i love her grunts, but it will be exciting to hear her start talking, i wonder if she'll be as talkative as Tink... you might need earphones from time to time:)
i was hoping that they would have conversations amongst themselves to releive me a bit...
I agree with Angela, Jossy is perfect.I do understand how you would want them to have conversations with one another since Tink does get out of hand with all her questions. hehe just kidding ( Tink is perfect also!)=]
Jossy wouldn't be Jossy without her grunts! I hope when she learns how to talk she never stops the grunts!
that's funny...your comment there that is. it will be interesting to see what kinds of things they recommend/do (whatever). be sure to keep us posted and tell us about what they do. and i'm sure she'll be gabbing it up with alexa before you know it. doesn't that whole delay thing kind of run in the family? and all of ours have been 'late talkers'...i guess JUST staying within that 'normal' that they talk about. anyhoo, can't wait to hear her little voice either...and the voices of the rest of the family too. :)
